I just got a new Gigabeat, MEGF40S. I have exhausted all I know to do to get MM to recognize it so that I can transition my library over.
My computer recognizes the Gigabeat, as the H drive. But when I go to synch within MM, it says the device is not recognized and tells me to configure. I go to the configure screen and the H Drive does not appear anywhere. I've removed and reinstalled MM. I've set the Gigabeat to SELECT WHEN CONNECT within settings/pc connections and I've also tried the Windows Media 10 player and Gigaroom to no avail. I've also tried unsuccessfully to drag and drop artists from existing MM files to the Gigabeat, while within MM.
I've tried to utilize the Gigaroom tool that came with the device to synch, but it's having difficulty reading my existing library of nearly 30 gig (which I refuse to re-rip! I've spent extensive time correcting and organizing the data. Although I now need to re-create my playlists.) Nor does Gigaroom have anywhere near the functionality of MM.
I previously used a Creative Zen touch and did not have anywhere near the difficulty in synching it as I have had with this Gigabeat! Sadly enough, my Zen grew wings on a motorcycle ride a few weeks ago, hence the new Gigabeat.
I'm currently reformatting the Gigabeat and have re-installed MM and rescanned all tracks to the MM library.
What must I do to get MM to recognize the Gigabeat?
Arrgh!
