MM "internal" playlists are stored in the database. Did you keep your database file? (usually it's Mediamonkey.mdb)

Most important preferences are stored in the ini.
Some preferences (e.g. GUI related stuff) are stored in the windows registry, so these are gone after re-install.

Where were the old ini and database files located -- did you kept them in their default folder? (Default is "My music")

I would start with copying your old ini and mdb to the same place as the were before. If that doesn't work, tell us more...

New machine - how to I get my settings/preferences back

by mp3_monkey » Sat Aug 25, 2007 12:02 pm

Just bought I new machine, reinstaled MM 2,5,5m and everything works great ( even with vista)..... but all my playlists, preferences etc are back to defaults.

I still have all my old MM files ( ini, m3u, etc)..where do I store them, and what do I need to revise, so that they are seen by the new install?

Thanks

MM
