Batch Editing - What Do You Use?

MM2.5 is very slow when mass editing file names and relatively so when tag editing. FileRenamer is almost instant for search/replace (i.e..Feature=Ft. or remix=rmx) type functionality. Tag&Rename 3.3.5 is my other APP for mass tag editing.

For me after testing a good number of APPs in this regard, I settled on FileRenamer V.4

Amazingly easy and very robust in terms of features/functionality.

Yea.......but half of those lyrics was stolen from "I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto".

Absolutely awesome program IMO. Kept me interested in my collection for hours. Very easy to use and simple to get the hang of. Also, there is an undo, which is extremely helpful.

I am pretty anal when it comes the display and layout of my MP3 filenames... and seem to be spending a lot of time amending file names to suit my tastes...

From reading the pages it seems I am not the only one like this, so I will assume someone has found a nice utility that will allow batch editing of filenames..

What I want to do is scan my music collection looking for those tagging anomalies that happen when auto-tag features such as "[" instead of "(" and the ever annoying "[*]" (which I frankly have no idea what that is supposed to mean!) and then batch edit do that all "[" turn into "("

I have used something in the past that did this, but for the life in me I have no idea what it was called, nor can I find it using the normal searches...

Any suggestions?
