There really was a problem with deletion of tracks in some nodes, it will be fixed in the next release. As for the random problems, I'm not sure, please e-mail a debug log if they appear in the next release.

When deleting a playing track, it only stops playing. It's necessary issue delete again to efectively delete that track. This behaviour is from B2.

The same problem with me using MM3 B3.

Selecting the node "Archiv \ Artist" I am not able to delete a song. Nothing happens - no matter if I press the delete key or right clicking and mark delete.

After changing the node to "Archiv \ Title" I'm able to delete songs!

I tried different actions that may trigger the delete issue, please try this

Start MM3B3
Double click a track in Now Playing to plat the track
Minimise MM3 to the task bar icon
Double click the task bar icon to open the MM window
Delete a file in Now Playing
- This is where I now have the delete problem

The action delete now has depends on what action/s have been done prior to minimising MM3b3 to the task bar icon

Hope this helps

Will do jiri. MM3 is a clean install and I have no hotkeys configured. And Kos, yes, MM2.5 deleting does delete flawlessly but I am sticking with MM3b3, despite this problem

by Kos » Thu Oct 04, 2007 8:27 am

Will do. Last night I returned to 2.5 where the deleting process is flawless.

I don't know what can be wrong, so I added a couple of debug messages. Anyone having this problem please send us a debug log (when the next release is available) and as many details as possible - mainly whether you have a clean installation and whether some hotkeys are configured.

Same problem here. There is no way of deleting anything. My DB is on a NAS, too.

I have been having a similar problem with MM3B3.
In the Now Playing section quite often when I hit Del on the keyboard it is rather unpridictable what happens. Sometimes it just deletes from the playlist - as it should and always has done in MM2.
Sometimes nothing happens and I have to use the right mouse click, click on delete, to delete the file from Now Playing list
Sometimes when I hit Del it askes if I want to delete the file, when I click 'Yes' it removes it from the Now Playing list and the library.
The delete operation of the Now Playing list is quite random in operation.
No such problems deleting files from the main library listing - I hit Del, it always brings up the confirmation box, I click yes and it deletes the file from the library listing and the computer even though all of my music files have a ra.. attribute (as has always happened in MM2)
Can't recall having this type of problem with MM3b2 but maybe it's more pronounced in MM3b3
Hope this helps

Delete fails

by rusty » Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:40 pm

Kos, Fishfuzz,

If you have a moment, please generate a debug log of this. Hopefully it'll give us some insight into why this is happening.

note: When you send me the log, please indicate which track you tried to delete and at what line number in the log you pressed the delete key.

Thx.

I'm having this same issue with B3. None of the tracks are read-only or hidden, none are playing, and it occurs on any track I try to remove/delete.
