iPod autosync

Turkey,

With MM3 RC3, are tracks still not playing? Are you sure that iPod compatibility settings are enabled?

Maybe someone can help me with this:

Every time I do a clean install of a new MM version, I lose all my Auto-Sync selections. Setting up my Auto-Sync list is particularly time consuming because I'm selecting 140 gigs of music out of my 230 gig library.

Is there a file I can save before I do a clean install that contains only my Auto-Sync choices? Or is it just part of the overall database file?

Still Won't Sync Even With RC3

Whether it's Auto-Sync or Sync Selected:

All the music tranfers to the iPod quickly and correctly. All the music is displayed on the iPod, and the album art is beautiful.

But nothing will play.

I first noticed this on RC2 and it continues with RC3. I can revert back to RC1 and my syncs work just fine (about to do so right now).

Once again, this is on a 160gig iPod Classic (now with 1.0.3 firmware from Apple as of today).

RC3

Got it. Perhaps the other iPod related fixes will solve this.

RC3 is hopefully happening within a couple of days.

In case that wasn't clear about it, it was Auto-Sync that failed to work properly.

Just an update:

I restored the iPod and synced 130 gigs to it overnight.... Today all the albums show up on the iPod, but nothing will play.

When is that RC3 dropping??

Sync Selected messes up album art

This should be fixed in RC3. There was a bug in sync selected that could cause this behaviour in some circumstances. Let us know if it works for you once RC3 is out.

Now that I'm thinking of it, can you add a Year node to the Auto-Sync list so I can easily select every album released this year?

My issues are on the 160gig iPod Classic. I only put music on it, only using Media Monkey, only to be listened to in the car.

Here's exactly what I did:

- Checked off albums on the Auto-Sync List (about 130 gigs worth to save space for later additions). All albums synced properly and all album art was displayed.

- Later, as I got more albums, I would highlight a new album and hit "Sync Selected." Every NEW album synced and displayed correctly, but I lost the album art for EVERY other album.

- To fix this, I turn on iTunes and uncheck "Display Album Art." iTunes deletes the art. Then I re-check "Display Album Art," iTunes rebuilds the art database, and everything appears hunkydory.

Until today, that is. I just added four new albums this afternoon. The iPod displays the new albums (including the appropriate album art) and all the tracks from the new albums. It will not PLAY any of the new tracks, however. All older albums play just fine.

I just restored the iPod and am going to resync everything at once. Hopefully that works, or else I have to switch back to RC1.

Synch Selected Messes up iPod DB

by rusty » Thu Nov 22, 2007 5:22 pm

Cali, Turkey,

I tested this on an iPod Nano and could not replicate the problem at all. Does this _alway_ occur with the iPod classic? Anything special you need to do? Are you synching any video? Are you using iTunes in some way?

If you have an iPod Nano, are you able to replicate the bug on that device as well?

Thx.

Additionally to that, all the lyrics are deleted.

Sync Selected corrupts iPod Cl. alb.art [F4018]

If I add an album to my iPod using "Sync Selected," the new album's art displays properly but every other album (130 gigs worth!) vanishes.

I can restore it by going into iTunes and unchecking the display album art box under the Music tab, then rechecking it and applying.
