Randall is right: most companies when bought do not shine as bright as they did in the past. What happened to Musicmatch was deporable - from top to the bottom. And really, it had such a big potential. No iTunes, no MediaMonkey was popular at that time. If you want to have a party, you either had your Windows Explorer or you had MusicMatch. And by the way the things are, people are still using Windows Explorer.
I might do a rant by just mentioning the leatest great product from Creative that had great drivers: AWE32. But I better not let me set free.
If there is a way that MediaMonkey can benefit from other companies, is to bundle MediaMonkey with portable devices. I know that the three ones with big wallets have their own solutions (bloated as they might be, and maybe not as useful as you know what), but there are lots of companies that might benefit from MediaMonkey a lot. I point at companies like Archos, Iriver, etc. They make great devices, but not so great software. Can you compare Iriver music manager with MediaMonkey? Hell no! So, come on, MediaMonkey should try to get good in good terms with those companies.
Imagine you get a new portable device that gives you a lifetime registration for MediaMonkey, and that MediaMonkey supports every feature of the device (like configuring FM stations or uploading firmware updates).
No wonder Nero became number #1 when it began to be bundled with every CD recorder. In that case, the drive manufacturers did not reinvent the wheel everytime!
