Sorry I couldn't phrase it in better terms. I've fallen victim to this problem many many times since the I started using RC1, and it is still present in RC4. I finally managed to duplicate and pinpoint the problem when it happened once again in RC4.
Let's say in your main view you have 5 songs.
1) Select one of the song, open the properties panel and edit any of its tags (I've tried it with all the custom fields, tempo, moods, artist).
2) Click the Lyrics Tab. (CRITICAL STEP) I tested it and it only happened in the lyric tab.
3) Once you're done, use either the arrows or "Alt-Left/Alt-Right" to navigate to the next song. And next song. And next song.
If you do that correctly, you'll notice that ALL the custom fields of the songs you go through, will be overwritten.
All of it will change to match the song you initially selected. This includes Tempo, Mood, etc and the custom fields. The titles, artists, etc... however remains unchanged.
Please test it!
