Re: DB upgrade

Are you saying that when you do two separate DB upgrades on an identical 2.5DB using MM 3.0.1.1124 the results differ each time?

If so, please forward a copy of the 2.5 db to both petr (petr at ....) and I (support at...).

Yes that is correct, I just sent a copy of the database via yousendit.com

EDIT: Rusty I found them. It was a combination of tracks which had the artist names changed but the links were never removed from the database. Don't know why but since I have made many changes to my database over the last several months, I am going to assume these records were corrupted at some point when my system or MM crashed. You can close this one, MM 3's Stats are working as it should be. Since it would be impossible to figure out what corrupted the files, and they are fixed now, there is no point you and Petr wasteing your time trying to find the problem. I probably would have never found it if not for the fact I was comparing the statistics report between 2.5 and 3.0.

Thanks again,

DB upgrade

Ok, I've done some research and it is not the statistics report that is causing the problems. Apparently some time during the database conversion from 2.5 some of my artists are being linked to either albums or authors but no tracks. Thus the artist counts are not correct. I tried this twice and it happened both times but the strange part is it did not happen with the all same Artist Id's. Enclosed is a screen pic of the original database with the Artist IDs affected and the second conversion with a different set of Artist IDs affected.

Any ideas??

Ok, I thought this was fixed in RC6 but it isn't as far as Artists are concerned. The statistics report is generating 1184 artists, when in fact it is 1195. I know it is 1195 because first I ran the stats report in 2.5, which reported the 1195. Then I printed a list of artists from 2.5 and literally checked to ensure they are all in 3.0. Which they are.

It's counting both my static and autoplaylists, but I only have 4 autoplaylists if that makes a difference. Prior to RC6, it was only counting the autoplaylists.

It seems that my statistics report is only counting normal playlists, and not Auto-Playlists.

The playlists are still not being counted correctly, the report is only counting 3 but there should be 99 playlists. I just sent the file via yousendit.com to support@mediamonkey.com.

RC6 has fixed the problems with the statistics report. Thank you.

Album counts

Nohitter,

That's by design.

I have a discrepancy between the number of albums in my DB, the track browser says 562 while the stats report says 563. The reason is because I have two albums named 'Greatest Hits' but each has a different Album Artist. The track browser doesn't seem to take the differing Album Artist into account, though this may be by design - just thought I'd point it out.

Nyn,

Thx. Received and replicated. I expect we'll fix it prior to release.

Playlists not counted

by rusty » Mon Dec 17, 2007 8:56 am

Nyn,

Is this still the case in RC5? if so, can you forward me a copy of your db (use yousendit.com or a similar service if it's big).

The main incosistency which I am seeing is the playlists, in MM 3.0 it is only counting 1 or 2 playlists, when in fact I have over 100.

Stats report

A couple of stats will be fixed in RC5 (# artists and Albums). If you still notice any problems, let us know exactly what they are. Thx.

Has this been fixed, my stats are still incorrect in RC4??
