I would like MM3 to allow a year such as 193?, which would then appear in the tree grouped as the 1930's.

Is this possible?

I usually pick a mid point in their active years.
IE.; Robert Johnson Recorded, off the top of my head, from between 1936 & 1938, so I just tag all of his tracks 1937.
I know that I have other "old" stuff tagged that way also. Just can not think of which artist they would be.
But, if I have an artist that recorded more than forty years ago, I tend to just find a mid point or most active year and use that.

Thanks for your reply. I had hoped to see other replies as well but I guess no one has any other solution.

I pesonally put these files into a (NOT KNOWN) folder. Then in the GENRE tab I put 30's/Ballad or whatever the genre is. You can also put in the COMMENTS field - 1930/1939 30's. Now, when you search for 30's they will all be there.
I will then be on the net searching for dates etc.
There are lots of different ways really. So hopefully someone else will give you other ideas.

I have a number of tracks from the 1930's but I don't know the exact year for each. I was hoping to enter the year as 193_ but this doesn't work. Is there a way to enter the year so that it will sort properly into the 1930's music without arbitrarily assigning a year such as 1939? How do the rest of you deal with this type of situation or am I the only one who cares?
