nvm found the 'wish list'...

Ahh, just as I suspected... thanks for the info.

So the option to sort albums is in iTunesDB... but MM doesn't take advantage of it.

Considering MM is closed-source, I don't like our chances of getting this fixed/implemented.... although perhaps if there are enough other iPod users who would like this feature we could appeal to the devs...

Is there like a feature request list or something?

iTunes actually has a nice sorting feature; for each track, next to the name of the album, artist, and song title, there are tags called "Sort Artist", "Sort Album", and "Sort Name". I use this feature to keep albums sorted in chronological order. Under "Sort Album", I type <Artist> - <Year> - <Album>. Sometimes you have to close iTunes and reopen it to see the albums sorted.

i figured there might have been a sorting option somewhere in iTunesDB (god damn stupid proprietary formats)...

does anyone here know if the same problem exists when using iTunes?

Thats really just a limitation of the iPod, not much MM can do about that. Probably your only choice would be to put the year in front of the album names.

List Albums by Year (IPOD)

by biffster » Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:56 pm

If I browse an album on my IPOD, the tracks are not listed in alphabetical order but rather listed by track# (id3 tag).

However, if I browse an artist, the albums are listed in alphabetical order... I would like them to be listed by year (id3 tag).

I could prefix the year onto the name of my albums... but I'd prefer not to.

Any suggestions?
