FTR, this was proposed in the http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=4395 and though marked Resolved, it did not address this.

....this should be a feature that should be done via checkbox
....What's needed is a GUI option to search only visible fields.

What's needed is a GUI option to search only visible fields.

Add parameter
QuickDBSearch = 1
to the [Options] section of MediaMonkey.ini file stored in
Doc & Settings\User\Local Settings\Application data\MediaMonkey
This would be a nice addition to the FAQ (assuming its not already there!).

You can also change the quick search behaviour in MM.ini file by editing that file. It will search only Title, Artist, Album Artist, Genre, Album fields then.

Add parameter
QuickDBSearch = 1
to the [Options] section of MediaMonkey.ini file stored in
Doc & Settings\User\Local Settings\Application data\MediaMonkey

Try ctrl-F. This can restrict which to search. But I do not know how to restrict which not to search...

ah maybe your right bout the lyrics, i have minilyrics which saves lyrics to tags. Is there a way to get it to not search lyrics?

by Teknojnky » Thu Jan 24, 2008 1:23 pm

perhaps you are searching all fields and those tracks have 'respect' in the comments or lyrics?

What happend to the search??

by Diabolic-Destiny » Thu Jan 24, 2008 1:14 pm

before when i used to type a search function for example 'respect' it would be fairly accurate and would display only possibilities with 'respect' now when i search respect i have songs that don't even contain that word such as

Man Up - Lil Wayne - The Carter Files
All Out - Tupac - Until The End of Time

is there a way i can get the search to just list songs with the following words found in those fields
