Keyboard problems

by rusty » Thu Feb 03, 2005 8:59 pm

fyi, the latest release candidate of MediaMonkey 2.3.1 includes a fix for this. Here's a copy of the relevant information from the readme:

Problems using multimedia keyboard player keys on some Logitech keyboards that have installed the old
iTouch drivers. These drivers are required to enable the keyboard to control MultiMedia applications
such as MediaMonkey, even when the application is minimized. However, the older drivers are not
configured by default to work with MediaMonkey and if the multimedia keys are used while MediaMonkey
is minimized, tracks keep skipping. To get around this you can do the following:
1) Update to the newest SetPoint drivers and make the changes described in 2)
2) Change the Players.ini file included with the keyboard drivers as follows:

[Players]
MediaMonkey=cmd,MediaMonkey.exe,Winamp v1.x,xxx,xxx,40045,40046,40047,40044,40048,0,1,MediaMonkey
MediaMonkeyNS=cmd,MediaMonkey (non-skinned).exe,Winamp v1.x,xxx,xxx,40045,40046,40047,40044,40048,0,1,MediaMonkey

[Players.Display]
MediaMonkey=MediaMonkey
MediaMonkeyNS=MediaMonkey

[Players.Seek]
MediaMonkey=cmd,40148,xxx,1
MediaMonkeyNS=cmd,40148,xxx,1

[Players.Rewind]
MediaMonkey=cmd,40144,xxx,1
MediaMonkeyNS=cmd,40148,xxx,1

[Players.BurnSupported]
MediaMonkey=True
MediaMonkeyNS=True

3) If the above doesn't work or if the problem occurs with a non-Logitech keyboard, add the following
to the mm.ini file:

[System]
InterceptMMKeys=0

Let me know if this works for you (note: don't bother trying with MM 2.2.2 -- you'll need to use MM 2.3.1 RC-1 or later).

I'd double check the players.ini file in the logitech directory.

logitech keyboard

No changes were made wrt logitech keyboard problem, however, it's possible that whatever config files you'd modified to get it working in the first place were deleted if you uninstalled the previous version of MM.

No, pah. It plays the like the first second or so of the song then skips to the next.

abecedarian - Actually, yes, I am. Should that matter though, or did it break within the new Beta?

Are you using the multimedia keys on a Logitech keyboard?

Otherwise, maybe you have a corrupt database?

It would do that if the next track was unavailable..and the next track..and the next track..and the next track.

2.3 Beta 2 - Now Playing Out of Control

This has been happening alot lately, around twice a day it seems.

I'll have MediaMonkey in the tray playing whatever, and sometimes (not always) when I hit next to change songs, it continuosly changes songs and doesn't stop. I can't open the program, stop it, right click in the tray or anything. It's as if I were sitting pressing 'Next' repeatedly.

I have to end the task to make it stop.
