With Advanced Searches, you can do queries on almost any field, so you could do all of the searches that you described and more. Shown below is the complete list of searchable fields and associated contitions:

Note also: Advanced searches can be set to appear in a specified order (e.g. sorted by BPM and then by Artist), and to be limited to a certain number (e.g. only a total of 20 Tracks). This is most useful when creating Advanced Autoplaylists.

Re. filtering functionality, it offers the ability to filter what artists/albums appear in the Artist and Album nodes. The filters can be constructed to show only Artists/Albums with >= x tracks, and Artists/Albums with >= Accessible tracks, and Artists/Albums with tracks that match any of the search conditions that are configurable via Advanced Search.

Hm, well, it does, sort of. But can you tell me more about the filter and search functions (I don't usually go to sleep on my PC, so the sleep function is not that important for me ).

With advanced search, can I access the Detailed fields for the tracks directly. e.g. look for Composer or Lyricist? Can I look for songs longer than 06:00? That kind of thing?

To summarize, the Gold version adds the following functionality:
-Use the File Monitor to automatically update your Library to reflect changes on your hard drive so that you don't have to do so manually. This one is a major convenience.
-Use a Sleep Timer to play your music, gradually fade it over a set period of time, and then turn off your PC -- perfect for listening to tunes before you go to sleep. Useful for now, even better once we add alarm clock features.
-Catalog your physical CDs and use the Virtual CD feature to avoid creating duplicate entries for tracks that exist on both your Hard Drive and CDs.
-Create Advanced Auto-Playlists which instantly generate a mix to suit your mood. Simply specify the criteria, and the mix is automatically generated. Basically, whereas the standard version allows you to create autoplaylists based on a few criteria, the Gold version allows you to create sophisticated mixes such as All tracks rated 3.5 stars or higher, where the genre contains the term 'Rock', and the tempo is 'fast or very fast', from the 70's.
-Export lists of your music collection to Excel, html, or xml files, so that you can show it to others.

Downloaded Songs-DB today, already moved to the beta version, and I like the tool a lot. However, it's not clear to me from the docs and website just what are the additional features of the Gold version. Is there a simple table or list comparing the features of both versions?
