While I'm waiting for a reply:

1. Approx 100-200 tracks could not be synced due to conversion problems.
Is there anyway to find out which ones?

2. To avoid a very long sync again (conversions) I hope to sync the iPod tracks on to another computer. I'm not sure this is possible as the "sync list" is on the origianl computer? I will have to copy the tracks across, auto organise, delete from iPod and resync?

Well after 39 hours I finally got a full sync done but...

Cant read any of the songs :(

I have the full debug file that I will send in

Neither MM or the iPod reported any songs on it yet it only has 15gig spare.

I couldnt unmount the iPod until i shut down MM and restrted it.

I'm sure if I rebuild the database it will fix it but I'm worried I have lost the sync list again and will have to do the whole 39 hours again :(

MoDementia,

Is this what you see in MediaMonkey, for example:

I try to add songs to my iPod (160GB) and I get this:

http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... or2qa2.jpg

Notice in the bottom left that I have 17,959 songs already loaded through a sync using MediaMonkey. I have a total of 19,199 songs I am trying to sync, so one would assume that I only need to download another 1,604 songs. But no, I get the error as seen in the pic above.

So I click "no", because I don't want to delete what's already on the iPod, and then I get this:

http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... or1zr1.jpg

If I click "ignore" and "retry" it continues to give me this error. If I click "cancel" it stops the sync. Now notice in the bottom that it says I have 16,953 songs (what happened to the 17,959 I had before) on my iPod, and it is trying to load another 18,952 songs.

And before anyone says to rebuild the database, I have already tried that.

Am I the only one having this issue?

I am using MM 3.0.3.1140. (windows XP pro, iPod Classic 160 GB))

MM does not give me an error to report a bug, it only shows me what you see in the pics.

~24 Hrs 6700 Tracks synced

by MoDementia » Sat Mar 01, 2008 5:54 am

~12 hrs = 4300 tracks synced

The "converting to MP3" dialogue is prominent now

Fingers crossed

Ok so its done 200 tracks so far but I have noticed that the conversion dialog isnt reporting eg coverting to mp3, just copying 200 of 9781, copying 201 of 9781 etc should i be worried?

OK I may be paranoid at this point, cant find a confimed track that needed converting yet :P

Just had one and no reporting that it was being converted from wma to mp3 but is on the iPod hmm

Actually its quite intresting:
I have been watching the temp directory and the conversion is starting 2-3 songs before the copy process.

I did change USB ports as I suspected the original one was not running @ 2.0 speed, perhaps it also was what was causing the crashes.
On one restart windows auto diskscan checked the iPod HD

by MoDementia » Fri Feb 29, 2008 5:48 pm

About to start again as I cannot check the auto-sync process using seleted sections :(

I did notice that some tracks were unable to be converted (DRM restrictions mostly) is there any way to see the tracks that fail to sync once done?

by MoDementia » Fri Feb 29, 2008 7:59 am

I have started again with debugview running but am only syncing a letter at a time, i.e. A album artists, B album artists etc

I was running 1140 debug.exe but there was nothing on screen when i woke up so I assumed the The crash rebooted the PC so i'm not sure the debug will work anyway

If MM isnt saving the synced list until is finished i.e. clean exit then thats what has happened which is very unfortunate.

I did have to rebuild the iPod database also but they were playable.

Try to install the debug version, so that the crash can generate a report. You can also generate a debug log, which would make clearer what's going on.

I have installed Itunes, updated software, and followed all the instructons in the sticky..

"The following 7579 tracks on iPod aren't in the sync list. Do you want to remove them from the device?"

No I do not want to waste more than 24 hours of syncing time!!! I want to include these tracks in the sync list and continue adding/syncing the other 2500 tracks.
