You can uncheck it, but then you'll need to remember to synchronise your tags so that the artwork is written back.

This is still an issue even in MM3. It's very fustracting as I have to keep the option "update tags when editing properties" checked.

juice is right.

I also notice that some time ago. If I have "Update Tags ..." unchecked and I do anything to ID3Tag-saved Images (Album Arts), the changes won't be made because the ID3Tag isn't rewritten.

I'm writing the Album Arts to folder.jpg, so I haven't that problem, but if I edit files with Album art included, I always have the enable "Update tags ..." for that

might sound like a dumb question for you but??

if you right click on the album art window and check the context
menu to see if you have album art for selected checked.?

if so then check the other option for current playing song.

see if that fixes it. if not then trixmoto is more likely the one
you need to get the answer from.

As soon as I click anywhere else in MM, the album art disappears when I come back to the album / song.

that should be tagged to the file upon closing of the monkey if the data is being held in ram until then.?

it just does not stay when you do that moving to another song or do you mean you click another website and it goes away?

trixmoto would be the one to know this he did a script to get
the art from amazon.

if he does not reply send him an personel message.

"Update Tags When Editing Properties" Option

Suppose I uncheck the option to "update tags when editing properties." This means that changes are made in my library, but later, I need to go sync them in order to write to the file, correct?

Now suppose I use Amazon to assign a new album cover to an album with this option unchecked. Currently, it flashes "downloading," and the picture shows up until I click anywhere else. When I come back to the album, the art is no longer there.

So, if the option to "update tags when editing properties" is unchecked, will album art not stick?
