I just want TITLE-ARTIST,

not COMPOSER|ARTIST/TITLE-ARTIST
You haven't set up your mask correctly:

Your mask reads:

Code: Select all

<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>
while it should read:

Code: Select all

<Track#> - <Skip> - <Artist> - <Title>
Please read my post more carefully this time!

<title> - <artist>

If that doesn't work it's because your composer info is in your artist tag.

Well you still haven't really answered my question but I'll do my best. What I'm really wondering is when you add the tracks into MM are the artist and title names correct? If so, you would just do an auto-organize (Tools -> Auto-organize) with a file mask like:

Code: Select all

<Title> / <Artist>
however if the title or artist properties are incorrectly labeled, you would first "Auto-tag from filename" (Tools -> Auto-tag from filename) with this mask:

Code: Select all

<Skip> - <Title> / / <Artist>
then when that is done do the auto-organize as described above.

MM gives you a preview of what the tracks will look like before you actually change them, please make sure it is going to do what you want before you make (and save) any changes.

If you just want to change the file names - is the artist and title information currently correctly labeled within MM?

the artist and title info is already in the file name, but there labeled in the wrong order i like stated eariler.

PEACE.

You want the file name to be changed or the tags?

by Bmac » Fri May 09, 2008 10:14 am

Can someone please make a mask so that this can be changed:

TITLE -------------------- ARTIST
Jerry Cantrell - Man In The Box // Alice In Chains

TO

TITLE ------------------- ARTIST
Man In The Box //// Alice In Chains

Also can someone give me a small explaintion on how you made that mask? I don't know how to use them yet.

THANKS.

can someone explain how to work trixmotos Txt Importer 1.1 and his txt exporter scripts?

i have no idea how to use scripts, i hate them as of now.

thanks..
You'll have better luck posting in the script's own thread as Trixmoto himself will read it as well as anyone else who actually uses the script.

Re script: I think that trixmoto have made something similar that can import TXT.

by Owyn » Tue May 06, 2008 10:07 pm

OK.

Code: Select all

<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>

by nohitter151 » Tue May 06, 2008 10:00 pm

I'm not aware of any script that can tag tracks from a .txt file. If the file names are correct you could select the songs from within MM and then use Tools->Auto tag from filename, setting up an appropriate mask - for example

Code: Select all

<Artist> - <Album>

Ummm. I am a relatively new user of MM so I still use MP3Tag to clean up download files. If the filenames are anyplace close to correctly "tagged" it's convert filename to tag function can handle just about anything.

....

Just took a look at the torrent. Piece of cake in MP3Tag.

Convert format, without the quotes, but with the embedded spaces is "%track% - %artist% - %title%".

Someone else can translate that to MM speak.
