If I have a playlist where some of the tracks are also in the Virtual CD, when I write out the playlist to disk, the file location for the tracks isn't the original hard disk location, but the Virtial CD path.
The behaviour is repeatable - if I remove the track from the virtual CD, the original file location is used, if I then put the track back in the virtual CD, then it uses that path instead.
It just so happens that I then import these .m3u files into my Sonos system, and couldn't understand why it was failing to find some of the tracks...
I wondered whether the use of the Virtual CD location over the hard disk location was by design?
