Re: MM Play Date Manager

Hey,
now, I finished the next version.

Changes:
+ Automatic songlist update
+ New technique for localization

Also, there's a better integration into MediaMonkey. I didn't succeeded in using the embedder. But I coded another two programs. One of these is a kind of "starter" for my tools. It can install a little icon which will be displayed in the MediaMonkey toolbar. Then you only click the icon and select the helper you want to use (at the moment "Advanced Rating" & "Play Date Manager").

You find more information in this thread:

All information regarding the Play Date Manager can be found here:

Regards
Christoph

Just a status message:
I started embedding my app into MediaMonkey. It almost works but there are two little problems which have to be fixed before publishing the next version.

That's what I mean, I just wanted to ensure that it will not erase or change "real" play dates. I don't see any changes for songs with a few play dates but it's hard to check tracks which have a lot of play dates and these are the ones that I am more concerned with.

What do you mean with "it skips over the existing dates"? Sry, can't understand that. Existing dates won't be changed when adding new ones.

Thank you, now I see them. When adding the new played dates, it skips over the existing dates right?

Ops... I missed updating the file. Sry, you should get the right version now.

I don't have any drop down boxes and I just redownloaded to ensure I have the right version, the version says 1.02.0.

Hey Nyn,
I added the date added field in the last beta. You can select it through the new drop down boxes.
Regarding the embedded panel: I'm waiting for a permission to use his library and script.

Christoph

PS: I will release beta 3 in the next few days.

Christoph:

Any luck adding the Date Added field and making an embedded panel?

Ok, I just updated the files. It's still beta 2 but has some more options.
I hope all works.

Sry, it will take some time because I have to redesign some elements.
You will get it tomorrow I hope.

by Christoph » Thu May 22, 2008 3:23 pm

Ah, sry, forgot that...
I will add it immediately.

I thought you were going to include an option to use the DateAdded as the start time??

Hey,
here is the 2nd beta of my little tool:
http://www.troelfdesign.com/de/download ... e-manager/
http://www.troelfdesign.com/en/download ... e-manager/

New features:
+ Deletion of play dates in given time range
+ Confirmation if last play date is before the song was added to the library (red song item)
+ Confirmation if play date is in future (brown song item)

Christoph wrote:Hey,
you are right but missed a little point:
Maybe the songs 1+2 have 3 played dates between 2008/1/1 and 2008/1/3 but the songs 3+4 have only 2 dates in this time range.
So at first, you would have to delete only 2 plays of the songs 1-4 and then you have to delete the 3rd play date of the songs 1+2.

Christoph
Yep, you're right. There is a difference between the very last Played "lastplayed date" (-1) in a certain time period and all lastPlayed Dates in a certain time period (-x). The first case would be possible with the sorting function in MM. But as you said the second case may could be also useful in some cases...
