most other programs use folder.jpg

but i don't use other programs so i name it to the artist and save to the folder or tag if possible.
and i also save them in an album art folder to which i use when i connect the art to the songs.

i don't rely on scripts to download and get the art connected by linking or in tag. i go to the online sites
and look for the art i want then save to that album art folder. edit the art if needed and then tell monkey where
it is.

:D

in the my computer view monkey's directory tree he will see the songs when you send them to playlists or use him to rename them and such but his my computer node is just for fast access to the same my computer area that is got to by the icon on the desktop.

so doing things in there does not give monkey any way to be safe and catch wrong moves or deletes.
i only use that to check the file folder for my temp rip songs to go in. i use the playlists for just about every thing else, i feel it is safer to mess with a playlist then the file.

Folder.jpg works fine. Do you store tracks on an album in their separate album folder?

In any case I don't know what the problem is, but various users seems to have trouble updating tags using the My Computer node. You might want to consider using the Location node under the Library node. It provides the same physical structure as My Computer except the tracks are edited in the Library which shouldn't give you any problems.

If you edit through the My Computer node and have trouble please consider to create a debug log as described in the Bug Report forum so that the developers might get an inside into what can be causing this.

Do you embed album art or save it externally? If you save it externally do you have your tracks stored per album folder and add the album art to that, do you store your album art in general folder, or do you store your tracks in a folder with tracks from multiple albums? If you save it externally can you confirm that the album art file was created.

Make sure you have the correct rights (ie you're allowed to write to the folder containing the music) and that you set to save tag changes to the tracks (Tools > Options > Tags & Playlists).

You are using MediaMonkey 3.0.3 which is fine unless you use an iPod/iPhone. You can turn on automatic updates in Tools > Options or you can subscribe to receive updates by email on the MediaMonkey homepage.
I'm using the My Computer view. The Library view seems to be all messed up.

I have it set to save to the tag if possible and to the folder. The art is present in folder.jpg. But in the My Computer node, it doesn't show up, except right after doing the tags from web. Then it shows. If I click away from that album and back, it does not show. I guess that's just something odd about the display.

Is "folder.jpg" the right file name for the art for other programs to find it? Or should it be something else?

Thanks!

Are making tag updates in the Library or My Computer node? In the Library node all should work well. Users do seem to have issues in the My Computer node.

there is option in the general node on the options panel for the update/ upgrade.

change in the same options panel the way the album art is saved, you should have it
changed to a different name and placed in the same folder of the artist or album.

and then have monkey check the folder for album art. and make sure your songs are in
different folders for each artist or albums. other wise you will get the first album art monkey sees for each
song you have.

you can also when getting album art go to the songs properties and to its album art panel.
get an album art cover for that song from the folder it is in, and when you click on the open button you will see options on how to save the art.
make sure you also have link to image checked then click okay and
from now on the options are set you should not have to check them again.

also make sure you right click on the album art window and select current playing song so it will change
with the song.

I've been using Auto-tag from web to get album art. It typically shows up in the update window, then saves to folder.jpg. While I'm on the same folder, the art shows up. If I click off that folder and back, the art shows the blank CD image. folder.jpg correctly contains the art in every case.

My files are FLAC, in case it makes a difference.

Also, how can I cause MM to check for an upgrade? I'm on version 3.0.3.1134.
