This is a known issue with no known solution. I believe the issue is that there has been no reliable way to reproduce (ie. on one machine it works on the next it doesn't).

File Monitor doesn't work with EXT3 File System [#6321]

Hello!

Since some weeks I'm working with a Synology DiskStation with EXT3 File System (LAN network drive). Before this I've had a standard NTFS drive. Since moving the MP3 archive to the new drive I have one problem with MM:

The file monitoring of the archive doesn't work correctly with the new file system. MM doesn't recognice new or moved songs at work. It recognices them only on startup with the option "file monitoring on startup-scan".

Is this a bug or a missing feature of MM? I'm a little sad :-(
