I guess I may be reviving an old thread here, but I just noticed that in the latest version of the software, the password is still in the clear mode. It seems like quite a big security hole. I feel very uncomfortable entering my password in the clear on a machine at work which 3-4 other people use. At least I couldn't find the password stored in the clear mode in the registry or the C drive, but it may be lurking somewhere.
So I'm really curious, what is the rationale in making the password visible?
