The thing is that MM firstly prepares all audio samples and only burns when all is precisely calculated. For example, length of some audio tracks can only be calculated after they are fully processed, the time you usually see in audio applications is only an approximation that isn't necessarily correct. This way you can be sure that tracks are burned precisely in MM. That said, we'll possibly include direct burning mode in some of the next versions too.
