Should be fixed in next build(1203). [5037]

Retested and confirmed regression occurs between build 1190 and 1196.

Folder containing 589 files imported without problem in 1190.
Aborted about 50 files in on 1196,1198,1201 and 1202.

AppData\Local\MediaMonkey folder deleted before each test.

Each install to separate new folder, e.g. Program Files\MediaMonkey_1190

Also tested with smaller folder tree containing 18 files that I suspected were part of the problem.
These work fine in 1190. Aborts 7 files in 1196.

Its pretty much already stated in the Bug Report forum, but here's a re-written version of that:

Download and execute the following application:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... gview.mspx

and run it while MediaMonkey is running (start Debug View first, then start MediaMonkey). Try to reproduce your error. You should see logs being generated in debug view. After you experience your error, copy the contents of debug view into a text file (you can use notepad to save). You can then send the log to the devs or do whatever else with it you like.

Pretty simple process.

Cool.

Thank you Owyn.

PS. Didn't forget about the debug log info for you. Working on a FAQ for the Wiki.

Added note to 5037

Thanks for testing Dreadlau

Just tried with 3.0.6.1190 with the same folder and add/rescan works as it should.
Confirming it's a regression in 3.1

This happened for me too but on the very first beta. A restart of MM (or even the computer?) fixed it.

Dreadlau.
Will post instructions on using DebugView tomorrow.

"otherwise unreported" means no MediaMonkey Exception dialog shows.

"Abort sequence" means look for the string "Abort" in the log followed by a traceback dump.

Hmmm. This might be a 1202 regression. Getting late so I will have to leave re-testing with old versions for tomorrow.

I have a solid reproducable small case for 1202.

I tried with several formats I know I have in my folder(mp3,wma,wav,flac). Each one at a time. And same thing is happening.

I have been chasing a similar problem.
5037: Folder scan aborts

Get a debug log and look for an otherwise unreported Abort sequence towards the end of the log.
