I noticed the poor sound quality as well... I isolated the problem to the Direct Sound ouptut plugin (out_ds.dll). I have another option to choose from, waveOut output (out_wave.dll). I don't know if you have any other options, but to switch output plugins:

Tools -> Options -> Player (See Left Window Pane) -> Output Plugins

Hope this helps...

When use of heavy equalizing the volume sometimes need to be set to a lower level to prevent distortion.

Hi Peke,

I found out that the quality of my sound is much better if I just turn out the equalizer(build in MM), caus' with the equalizer turned on, for example on "Pop"(or any other actually), the sound really sucks...(maybe because I already use the equalizer of my soundcard..?!). Thanks anyway!

Ciao,

Paul

Can you compare MM sound with Winamps and give us your results, so we can see what is the problem.

Hi everybody,

I've installed MM for 2 weeks now, I like a lot of its functions, but I think the music quality is really poor!! For exemple compaired with my Windows Media Player, the music sounds a lot less 'pure', there's always some noise...! I've already tried the 'allow hardware acceleration' and the 'create primary buffer' but none of these really solve the problem!!!

Anyone ideas?? Thanks in advance!

Greetz,

Paul
