ZvezdanD,

I see what you mean. I've entered a new bug for this, since it's a general issue (unrelated to switching skins).

Here are some more examples about inconsistency and why I think this explanation about active control is plain wrong:
- click on the Library node -> options are disabled;
- click on the Album Art panel -> options are disabled;
- click on the Search edit field on the Search toolbar -> options are enabled, selected track from the tracklist would be opened (Auto-Tag);
- click on some dockable panel, e.g. Lyrics Viewer -> options are enabled, selected track from the tracklist would be opened.

Why some active panels have disabled options, but another don't?

Why don't you answer to my questions? Is it so hard for you to give me some rational explanation?

Actions (we're talking about) should be disabled so that's a bug ... from your original post i see just one bug ... after MM startup, tracklist should be active control (now it's main tree).

Well, you explanation about active panel is just funny and here is why:
- click on the Library node -> there are displayed tracks and the first track is selected, but we have disabled options;
- click on the Artist node -> we have same situation as previous, the first track is selected but we have disabled options;
- click on some particular artist -> the first track is selected and all options are enabled!!!

Now, can you tell me isn't that totally inconsistent?

There is already displayed number of selected tracks from the tracklist in the status bar. In my opinion you should not display information about selected track(s) if we cannot use mentioned options on that track.

Could you tell me why the Properties dialog box from the View menu could open and show that track, but not Properties from the Edit menu nor any mentioned options from the Tools menu? Isn't such behavior inconsistent and confusing? And why the Properties from the Edit menu is not disabled as options from the Tools menu? Also, you didn't answer what is a point to MM automatically select this first track in the tracklist if it is not available for mentioned options.

It is correct, because when you'll select Library, active control is main tree (you've clicked on it). So just actions for the main tree are enabled.
BTW in MM2 it was exactly same (but didn't select first track so you didn't knew about that).

This is similar to my old report about skin change: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=36238

You say "Fixed in 1219" (http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5234), but it is not. It is even worse, here is why:
1. Click on the Library node (or Title, Artist or any which contains tracks) and wait for the tracklist to be populated;
2. MM automatically select the first track in the tracklist and this is displayed in the status bar (Selected: 1 file, xxx MB, xx:xx);
3. Auto-Tag from Filename, Auto-Organize and many other options in Tools menu are disabled;
3. Edit / Properties is not disabled, but if you click on it nothing is happening;
4. View / Properties correctly opens with the first selected track from the tracklist;
5. Click on some track in the tracklist and now all options in Tools menu are enabled.

In my opinion, if MM already displays selected tracks in the status bar, those options should be enabled. What is a point for MM to automatically select the first track in the tracklist if is not enabled for such options until you manually select that track? MM2 was more consistent - it was not selected the first track automatically when you change a node.
