can you make the overlay image's transparent section non dithered.
if you dither it you will get small dots of very lightly shaded color over the transparent image.
if that is happening then you won't get a true transparent area and the mouse will click on it.
and not let the image layer below be clicked on.
i think that is what is blocking the lower image layer.
so can you use a different non dithered color format? or did you make a png image with the pink transparent color of the theme skin's in the area of the overlay you want to be transparent.? if you just filled that pink color in and did not paint it in then if the image was dithered you still got the dithered dots in it.
if in fact you got the transparent image area completely transparent then the code for allowing the click to ignore that overlay is not working. or not in there at all?

but if you remember back when i made the hillbilly rock diner image i said the buttons on the player for the previous and next which are to be windows in the building. had to in fact be in front of the carhop / seeker path.
or you would click on the seeker bar and not the buttons.
in order to fix that you just need to move the location of the ini area up or down until it gets in front of the item you don't want to be clicked on. so maybe that will work with the overlay.
