I ahve tried Wondows 7, new install on a second hard drive beside XP
It works fine except the sound card wich is a Sound Blaster Live! platinum. No driver, I found a free driver : KX

Media monkey works fine,

I read a test review on a P.C. site. The author asked his son to compare it with the free Fedora/Ubuntu. He couldn't tell the difference.

As for the Google OS. I can see the little oiks queueing up ready to hack it to pieces.

Open Source - The way to go.

Those confirm that a clean install of Windows 7 is required for Windows XP users. Anyway this is the best way to upgrade Windows and a clean install will give a better performance.

That just make no sense! I don't think Miscrosoft will trow away all its XP consumers that didn't upgrade to Vista...

RC1 is up and running, just wondering what you lovely people thought of it?

The new UI looks amazing if I'm honest; I'm on Vista at the moment but use ObjectDock to make things look pretty, but it seems I wouldn't need to with 7.. I've also read many improvements on networking, organising and performance of 7 over Vista.

My question is: with the RC1 being valid for a year, if I do install it, live with it, then after the year is up Microsoft tell me to pay £££ to keep it.. what then? Would I be able to go back to Vista? Would I lose data etc etc..? I am just a bit confused as to what the deal is really.
