The DLL mentioned above is already included by default with MM 3.2, so if you still have a problem then it is a new one, probably has a different cause than the original poster. I'd suggest you contact the MM team (see the above "support" link) and send them a debug log and relevant information.

Hello Ludek,

OK, I installed your suggested dll. Overall, there was an improvement in ripping speed.

Here's how I set things up.

I created 10 seperate group burns with 10 selections in each group.

The first 6 groups of 10, ripped at an improved rate of speed and held steady through each of
the six groups.

The 7th group held an improved speed through the first seven selections. The last 3 selections
began to reveal a marked reduction in ripping speed.

Had I continued ripping, the overall process would have continued to slow down.

Once again, if I powered the machine off and restarted, the ripping would return to
acceptable speeds.

If you want progressive debug logs, I can provide them. I haven't completed them but I can.

Thanks once again

Sincerely,

Doug :)

Dough, thank you for the log.

Could you please try this hpCDBurn.dll
http://rapidshare.com/files/286872293/hpCDBurn.dll.html
and tell me whether the problem gone?

Thx.

Thanks Ludek,

The link you requested as follows:

http://www.yousendit.com/download/Z01NU ... R1B2Wmc9PQ

Sidebar: After testing this on several machines, I have found that running this on Parallels on the Mac, it runs great.

The log here is from a windows 7 RC (build 7100) but there have been the same issues with Vista and XP pro

I appreciate your time and concern

Sincerely,

Doug :D

This issue is kind of strange. The fix was confirmed by several users, but there seem to be some (like you) still experiencing the problem.
Could you please generate debug log for me?
Withouth the log I can hardly do something about it, because ripping works just fine on my systems.

First of all, download the latest MM 3.1 debug build (1271) from here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 34522&sd=d
(supposing you have already done so)

Generate debug log using the DbgView app
- Download the DbgView application from: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... gview.mspx
- Execute DbgView.
- Run MediaMonkey (1271 debug) and you will see the log being generated to the DbgView app window.
- Rip the CD
- Save the content in DbgView app to a file (Ctrl+S) and upload it by using a free service like RapidShare or YouSendIt.com
- attach the link to the shared file here.

Thank you.

Thanks nohitter151,

I did install the latest MM release and it did improve some. Before, I could get 3 or 4 CD's ripped and now I'm up to 6 and 7 before the speed begins to fall to a crawl.

This still occurs on 3 different machines basically the same way. I'll keep an eye out for more suggestions.

Thanks anyhow

Hey Guys/gals,

I'm also having the same slow down issue on several machines. I tried to download the suggested replace dll but received the following error, any suggestions.

Error

This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.

This limit is reached.

To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.

Thanks

Thank you, Ludek!
Tried it, and it does work. Ripped three CD's in a row, including my previous test candidate - all without a hitch and at breakneck speed. The previous test CD now comes in at 2:05 minutes for the entire operation.
I captured the entire test with a log and can submit, if requested.

Well done.
Hello,

thank you very much. The hpCDBurn.dll works for me too, there are no longer problems with the ripping-speed.
Very good!

Glad to hear this.
I have reopened http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5906 and applied the fix into upcoming build 3.1.2.1267

Forgot to mention that the system did not create a HPCDE.log file during my test.

Can you send Debug log and c:\HPCDE.log using 1266 to ls [.@.] MediaMonkey ... COM and pavle [.@.] MediaMonkey ... COM
I have sent the log.

I also tried setting performance to "1" for ripping, and subsequently for all processes. This delayed the onset of the problem somewhat, in that the 6th ot 7th track of the CD (instead of the 2nd) would be slow. This was about halfway through my test CD-ROM in terms of total track time. I did a lot of power cycles tonight. ;)

Thanks for looking into this, guys. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
