not to leave you hanging there for an reply rusty but yes i had been getting this in 1272 as well. but it turns out to have been caused by the automatically analyze level of unknown songs, that option was starting up with the mediamonkey program on library's that were not yet analyzed by mm 3.1.2 once it got the library analyzed it stopped the high cpu cycles on my computer. but that was on 1272 still if some one gets 1277 as their first use of monkey it might do the same on that version.? :-?

Is anyone observing this in 1276--we can't reproduce.

like lifeinbeats says it does seem to get better after scanning. however it takes forever for the scan to complete, i have a library thats ~8500 songs. for me its going a song or so a second, so scanning can take quite some time. cpu usage is still higher then it use to be once done scanning

i havent really had mediamonkey take up this much cpu before or run this slowly
Do you really need to scan then? Perhaps a reasonable workaround is just to disable the start-up scan...
i can agree that i dont need to have my files scanned on startup. however, i would hope that this gets fixed, it worked fine in the past. thanks for the recommendation. for now ill at least do that

I'm getting the same thing. It only happens when I'm running a process (such as rescanning folders) but it does take up all of one of my processors, which isn't that big of a deal, but it seems to be going really slowly. It scans about 20 files, then pauses, then scans, etc.

do you have the gold version? if so isn't windows 7 using computers with dual or quad core cpu's, ? go in to the options of monkey's and set up the cores to do different stuff when monkey is running. that might help. 8) :-?

upgraded to the latest test build so i can use the windows 7 integration (which i love).

after the upgrade mediamonkey started using 100% of my cpu when its running. tried disabling the iphone plugin, i remembered this helped in a build of 3.1 before it was released. this however did not help.

mediamonkey just uses all my cpu, theres a lag between songs, auto-monitoring at startup takes forever. i have no idea what mediamonkey is doing, but its slowing down not only itself but my whole computer.
