It is reported to be fixed in build 1271 beta for wav files:

already selected type files for wave, I tried everything in this 1261 version, not run until the end of the music wave in this version, there is some provision to solve this problem? :x

That has no effect on whether MM can play WAV files, only on whether it is associated with them in Explorer.

Not in my experience. I have many times seen MM grey an undeleted unmoved file that it has some problem playing.

some mp3's at one time i found online had been made and typed a new format for the file.

so the mp3 read .wav but was in fact .mp3 so that could be going on with your files? :-?

way to check that is try to open the wav file with a wav editor it will tell you if it is a real wav or not.

1) In options > File Types, is WAV selected?

2) If the file is grey after being played, it would mean that MediaMonkey can't locate the file either because it was moved or because it was deleted. If it was moved, use :
File > Locate Moved/Missing tracks and then search for the tracks.

.... i got a strange problem... i cannot play some wave files....

the codec seems to be installed, cause winamp does play this files....

espacially with much files from the battery samples .....

does anybody have the same problem?!

this file is working:
www.demonz.de/audio/mm/works.wav

this one not (but in winamp or other ones) and after trying to play its grey!
www.demonz.de/audio/mm/fails.wav


can anybody help me?=!?!
