I can see your point. I would enjoy having the a functional MM taskbar icon even when MM is minimized to the mini-player.

Sorry to comment on an old post but I had a question on this topic. Why are the Windows 7 Jump Lists not available when in Mini Player mode? I can kind of understand Micro mode since it's on the taskbar (although I think it should be available anyway) but in Mini mode, you still have a UI item on the desktop that should be reflected as running on the taskbar. I have MM pinned to my taskbar and it does not look like it's running in Mini or Micro mode.

Sweet! I just noticed the addition of seek bar time (track time) in the aero peek.
Thanks! :D

I have noticed some more quirky behavior with Aero Peek and Jump lists in Win7 64-bit

Here is what happens:
If I switch to mini-player from a maximized window, there are no aero peek jump list controls - as expected.

From there, I maximize the MM window. Everything is normal.

Then if I click on minimize window, I expect that it will minimize down to the taskbar and I should be able to use all of the aero peek/jump list controls. But I can't. The album art shows up but the player controls are missing in the aero peek window.

In summary, Aero Peek controls work fine under normal circumstances. However, it appears that they don't work if MM is maximized from the mini-player before being minimized to the taskbar. In that case, only the album art shows. However, if I go from micro-player, to maximized window, to minimized to taskbar, it works fine.

Does that make sense?

I feel stupid.
I just answered my own question. I figured I would post it in case someone else is as stupid as I am.

In order to retain the jump list when minimized, all you have to do is tweak the "minimization settings" to minimize to taskbar.

But I still would like to voice my desire to have the jump lists fully replace all of the functionality of the tray icon. The things that the tray icon is able to do that the jump list can not are: change the volume and display 'now playing'.
Thanks!

EDIT:
Oh, and I would LOVE it if I could see the seek bar time (track time) in the aero peek. That may not be possible, but it would make me very happy indeed! :D

First I want to say that I love the new Win7 Jump Lists. However, I'm wondering if it is intended behavior for the Jump Lists to stop working if MM is in mini-mode or micro-mode?
I would like the MM jump list to replace the functionality of the MM system tray icon. Is that possible in a future version? Or is it possible now and I am just doing something incorrectly? Thanks!
