desktop.ini

by PromisedPlanet » Mon Aug 06, 2007 8:31 am

I know it's been a while since the last post in this thread, but ....

The presence of a desktop.ini file in an otherwise empty folder makes the "delete emptied folders" function pretty much useless.

Anyone know how to configure Windows to not create this file in a folder? Is it even possible? Any other MM solution?

Thanks.

Rather than deleting the WMP album art how about moving them with the files?

MM already ignores Thumbs.db, but that Deskop.ini is a good point.

for example files like "thumbs.db" or "desktop.ini" should just be ignored and the folder should be deleted.
also the album art files from WMP could be deleted. (eg. AlbumArt_{16B36E7A-6AE1-419E-904E-872299E3BB21}_Small.jpg)

thanks
I've also had problems with empty folders. I use a third party program for ripping my CDs and use MM to clean up the tags and reorganize the files after I add them to the MM database. I put compilation CDs under 'Various Artists' or 'Soundtrack'. The Auto-Organize routine is able to move the files to the correct folder, but it doesn't delete the empty 'Artist' folders after the tracks are moved.
