MM ignores settings (since 3.2?)

Which is why I would prefer the option to have it disabled and have the settings consistent with upgrades. That way it is available to everyone but the experienced user has the option to disable it. I would prefer that than having to keep deleting them after each upgrade.

Considering all of the problems with d_iPhone.dll I agree with you partially, it would be nice if it could just be installed as an add-on or optional during installation. But then you also have to consider that there will always be the inevitable confused user who doesn't realize it has to be installed as an add-on and the hundreds of forum posts/support requests for "why doesn't MM find my iPhone".

Well, I think we talk at cross purposes

. I don't want to remove the .dlls themselves, but remove unused devices from the list. In the past I already removed devices I don't use (like an USB stick), but I can't delete "C902" (I created this myself) and "INTENSO" (USB stick) as shown on the screenshot (remove device is greyed out).

If these can't be removed it doesn't matter - I will be installing Windows 7 on my new PC tomorrow so the problem with unwanted devices shouldn't exist there

I disagree with you here, users can be stuck with them when they have no need for them. Deleting them and having them stay deleted with upgrades makes more sense.

As with WMP does for items deleted from the library, MM should offer the option to have them reinstalled if a user laters wants them back. At the minimum, MM should offer an option to disable them.

No, MM doesn't allow you to delete them because, well, it doesn't make sense to. Users could delete them and then suddenly wonder why their new iPod won't be detected by MM.

Is there really no other way than removing the .dlls? As you already said the devices return if you put the plugins back to the plugins folder (or simply reinstall MM). Would using a new db help?

They can only be removed manually in the C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Plugins\ folder, but they will return after upgrading or reinstalling MM.

Strange, I've been using it since (at least) MM 3.0 (I don't remember if I already used the function back in the time of MM 2.5) and I never had a problem; it always synced to the right folder. I added the entry to my .ini, but I hadn't the time to test it yet.

To my knowledge this issue has been around for awhile, definitely before 3.2.

Nevertheless it's pretty strange as I don't use my mobile phone directly, but I use the memory stick with an adapter. When did this bug occur for the first time? I never had this problem during the beta test of version 3.2 I think, it seems to have appeared for the first time when the final version was released.

I have a Sony Ericsson C902 with a 4 GB Memory Stick M2. I've been using MM for transfering Music to the stick (I use an adapter so I can use it directly with my pc) for many months now and I never had a problem. Yesterday I wanted to transfer some songs to the stick and used the entry "PHONE CARD" (as many times before) for it. The songs were copied to the stick, but they were all in the root directory instead of the music directory as set in the options:

I also noticed that there were also some files from my last sync in the root directory (I think this sync was around the time MM 3.2 was released; I used the betas and never had such a problem). I then had to use d_USBMass1.dll to make it work properly (again). What could be wrong? Is there a way to reset the settings for the devices? Using d_WMDM.dll was easier for me as I didn't have so many entries (for example when pluggin in a USB stick). I hope someone can help me.
