All I need to do is extract the PUID generation part of my "MusicIP Tagger" script and plug it into a report script like my "Missing Album Art", the combination won't take me long to produce and should give you what you're after. I'm working on my "Genre Finder" script at the moment, but I'll put this one next of my list after that. :)

What do you mean already using MusicIP??? I just started using it via Trixmoto's script so I am out of my league here so will need some good instructions.

Nyn:
I have a clugit solution which imports PUIDs from MusicIP database via Genpuid xml extract and a custom script.
A pre-requisite to using the process is to have a relatively complete MusicIP database with analysis. This can take a long time to prepare if you are not already using MusicIP.
Let me do a bit of cleanup on the script and I can release it for general use.

Aaaah, well that would have been the easy part, the hard part was figuring out how to get another program to identify the PUID. I tried Mp3tag and Picard but couldn't figure out how to get it without it changing anything else in my tags and I tried Helium but that woudn't save it where I wanted it to be. So I will stick with Trixmoto's script unless someone can tell me how to do it faster and easier with something else.

nyn, what he means is you need to add/rescan or have it monitored.

or maybe mp3tag wasn't configured to write the right tag.

I do not know what you mean but while I wait for an automated version I am using Trixmoto's MusicIP script. I looked at methods outside of MM and they each required a learning curve. I think it would be best to use TM's script, which would minimize the possibilities of me messing something up. It's a slow process but it is better than me having to start over if I mess up.

If you update file but not Rescan library, MM library will not update changes.

I tried that but I must be doing something wrong because I do not see it in the tags.

MP3Tag can copy existing PUID-tags to e.g. Custom 4:

I would like very much, but how far down on the list is it?????? Can I send some bribes your way to move it higher on the list? :D

Not that I'm aware of, but I can add it to my list if you like! :)

Automatic PUID Tagging

Does anyone know if there are any scripts which automatically update custom tags with the PUID? I know MusicIP Tagger and MusicBrainz Tagger exist but neither does it automatically. If not in MM, any recommendations on how to update the Custom4 tag outside of MM??

Thanks

Nyn
