You definitely shouldn't have to clean the database and start from scratch. Do you use File Monitor?

Dead links dito: doesn't do a thing.
Anyway what is the intended solution: dead links or remove unused atrists and albums (which doesn't say anything about an entree which doesn't exist, but is a known artis on a known album).

As there are more problems with the use of an Acces Database, as the makers of MM recognize, and will, in the future, design a custom made MM-database (see earlier discussions in bug reports), I would call it "Gilded" not yet Gold, but we strive for platinum!!

Understand me correctly, I am very satisfied with the product, else I would not have bought, or make an effort to improve by reporting small and large bugs and irritations.!! :-?

MM Gold is "Gold"! :)

You can go to Library\Files to edit\Dead Links in order to remove files you modified outside MM. Also, in MM Gold you can setup File Monitor in Options so that any change outside MM is automatically applied in MM.

That was the solution that I thought of too, however it didn't work. I have taken now a more drastic approach: delete the database file manually, rescan. However that is not what I expected from software that claims to be "Gold"

Click on "Tools | Options | Library"

At the bottom check the options "Remove unused Artists" and "Remove unused Albums"

ADDITION: And rescan your tracks of course :)

I have moved, renamed and deleted these files using the Explorer, so not MM.

Give File > Maintain Library a try.

Did you use Media Monkey to move and delete the files or did you do this outside of MM?

Removing non-existing entree from database

Maybe I overlook an option, but after renaming, moving and deleting files, there entree under Artist or Album etc. is still present. When I try to play them, of course that doesn't work, the entree is false. But how do I remove those?
