It seems that autoDJ in alpha 5 doesn't add songs that are unavailable at there normal location but are available in the virtualCD. As I normally use virtualCD this is hugely annoying.

Guess it was an oversight.

I just experienced a funny behaviour with AutoDJ.
My work PC was disconnected from the network so that it cannot access any remote track. I was listening to the few available local tracks and at the end of the current playlist, AutoDJ tried to add a randomly selected track but none was available... 100% CPU, no way to stop it; i had to kill MM.

Thanks, I found it. It's working well.

I still think autoDJ should not auto add unavailable songs though.

Hi Lowlander... In the advanced Auto-playlists, there is a criteria that is called STATUS. This option lets you select (or not) via whether the track is accessible.

Sounds good, but where can I set the available criteria?

They are added from a playlist.
If it's an auto playlist you can always use "Available" as a criteria.

I haven't tried autoDJ yet but adding deadlinks definitely sounds like a bug!

Another thing I would like to see in autoDJ is that it would just auto add songs that are available. Currently it also adds songs that are dead links.

I agree 100%

AutoDJ duplicates

I understand that a random system allows for duplicates to appear without too much distance in between them.

But I got MM to play the same song twice one right after the other. And this on a list with more than a 1000 tracks.

So maybe autoDJ needs a mecanism that disallows songs to play twice. And maybe even a mecanism that doesn't allow a recently played song to be played again until x% (like 10%) of the autoDJ list has been played.
