The Now Playing isn't the same as Library, so the tracks were not in the library anymore, just on the Now Playing.

Hey, I fixed it. I found all the songs with one name in the now playing list and deleted them all. Now I think I can get them back from my original backup disk without the false name on them.

I only used clear library.

Did you remove the old songs you tagged with same album before restoring backup? Did you use Clear Library?

I did it and it worked but the albums with all the same names which is "fine and mellow" are there too and they are all in bold print. There are thousands of them and I don't want to delete them one at a time.

Restoring the backup should work, make sure you use File > Clear Library and then scan tracks in again.

This method will take forever for I have thousands of songs. Since I have a backup for my music can't I just wipe all the music off my computer and wipe media monkey off and start over?

If you gave all you're tracks the same album name resetting MediaMonkey won't help as it's been saved to the files. You might be able to use Tools > Auto-Tag from Filename to get correct Album names if the folder/filenames contain this information. Proceed with care and confirm in each step the desired results are going to be achieved: http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/webhelp/f ... lename.htm

No luck in fixing the problem. Is there a way to just reset media monkey so it starts over with the correct settings? I have now corupted windows media player and mp3 tag programs too. Under albums they all say the same name

If that's the case you might need to upgrade to a newer version as in new versions that setting wouldn't cause this unless files are in the same folder and have the same album name.

make sure you do not have that little check box in the corner of the album art panel set to set all selected songs to the same album art.

if your using a script then let us know so the author can help find the reason. :)

I can retag songs one at a time but when I do it just retags all the songs in the directory to the new album art.

Probably you didn't disable "Scan track directories for album art".

MM has tagged all the songs with one cover

What did I do wrong?
