not hard

1. right click on the playlist node.
2. left click on make a new auto playlist and make one by naming it.
3. when the panel shows up since you have gold version click on the advanced tab.
4. when the new rules panel show up you see that you have to click on the add rule words in the listview of the panel.
5. when the rules options panel shows up just pick the top text line and click the arrow beside it to get the choices for it.
6. continue with the lower text areas to set them up. make sure to scroll the list for the text area to see all the choices.

7. click the okay button on that rules options panel now you have one rule in the rules listview area.
8. now look to the right of the listview of the rules panel you see in the lower corner the sort order options.
9. click on which you need to add or change the sort direction on click on the side you want to change.
10. click the okay button on the playlist options panel. you now have a new list.
11. to change or edit the new auto list just right click on the name of the playlist in the directory tree and click on edit list.

only 11 steps not hard at all.

only remember picking the list rule to follow the genere will over ride the follow the custom field # rule.
or it does on mine. and i've got trouble making 3 or more rules to have it follow before it does the sort.
hope they get that fixed in mm4.

okay now for pekes script it is simple the script needs you to place the name of your playlist in that you want to run.

you can either then make a shortcut to the script and manualy click the shortcut to run it.
or you can then make the task job in the windows scheduler and have the windows auto timer run it.

but you will have to use the mouse and or the keyboard to select all the songs in the now playing list after that script
starts it. then you will have to manauly use the file menu and export to the file format of your choice. some of the formats
are only useable in the gold version of mediamonkey.
:D

NO TROUBLE. 8)

1. make a autoplaylist that is set by rule to find any song by rating >=3.5
2. make it sort by the rating in the rules panel on the right lower corner by the ratings z to a
that will put the 5 ratings on top of the list.

3. get pekes windows scheduler script. make the script run that playlist when you run the script.
4. make a task job to run that script in windows scheduler and have that task job run ever other week.
at the time you wish to have it run.

5. when it starts it will show in the now playing because that is what you set up the scripts to do run that list
and have mediamonkey's player play it. so you will manualy have to select the songs in the now playing and export
to html list or to the m3u list you want.

that manual way of saving the list is the only way until some one figures out how
to make the script save the list to an m3u list automaticly

AutoPlaylists can't do this. Scripts might, but I'm not aware of one that can.

This might require the brains of a individual who truly knows MediaMonkey like the back of his/her hand!

Heres what i would like to have done.

I want an auto playlist that:
  • Checks all my recently added tracks to the library and only selects the ones rated with 3.5 stars or higher
  • also .. checks old tracks that are in my library that i may have changed the ratings and/or rated for the first time that is also 3.5 stars or higher
  • I want it to do this every two weeks, and then save the playlist as an .m3u file in a folder on my hard drive
  • and then of course maybe give it some nice file name like "BiWeekly-01.m3u" and the second will be "BiWeekly-02.m3u" as is keeps generating each two weeks
So every 2 weeks a new .m3u file will be created with new tracks that are 3.5 stars or higher
Note. week 2's listing should not appear in week 4's listing (unless i have changed the rating to a higher number of stars)

It seems difficult to me because I dont understand the help files in creating an autoplaylist.
