Yes, if you check
[x] Verify ripped tracks
on the Rip CD dialog then MediaMonkey will verify the ripped tracks againts the AccurateRip database and will show you the confidence number,
it is issue http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6005

Is MM capable of contributing to the AccurateRip database?

Thanks, rusty! I'll definitely test it out and report back if I have any issues!

Hi,

I closed the issue on the assumption that it's a problem related to my hardware configuration (since Peke tested it on 3 different hardware configurations, and Ludek tested on others without an issue).

My intent was that we'd get better coverage during the beta testing cycle and that if any users reported the 'error on last track' problem, that we'd re-open the issue.

So please let us know whether you experience this issue or whether it works correctly.

Thanks!

-Rusty

Well, if the secure ripping feature of MM4 is good enough, I won't need it (tho', from reading the CueTools description, it sounds like most any ripping software won't get bit-perfect copies of CDs anyway, except for CueTools :-) ).

you should try cue tools, it can verify and also repair small errors if the disk is in the cuetools db.

Thanks for letting me know - I'm especially interested in this feature because the combination of using EAC to rip, then MediaMonkey to manage, was being a pain (I haven't ripped any more DVDs since I did my whole collection years ago due to this, and due to that old FLAC truncation bug that happened some time ago - I'm going to have to re-rip the whole collection again someday, if I want bit-perfect copies :-( ).

Discussions about code generally aren't presented in Mantis since the project is closed source and the tracker is public. Generally a developer will simply say "fixed" and then the ticket is closed pending verification by a tester/moderator/etc.

I haven't tried this yet - I am just suspicious of a bug like that, especially after it's closed with no technical comments added (eg. finding where in the code this was caused, or that it had something to do with non-MM software, or that it was fixed in the code, etc.).

Just 1 dev saying he had a problem, another saying he didn't, and then it gets closed.

Since I'm a software developer, I'm interested in these kinds of things, and wary when I see a bug report closure without any comments other than "works for me" or whatever. :-)

Hey all...

So I was reading this:

http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=243

And it looks like rusty and peke are reporting differently as far as the bug rusty mentions (last few seconds chopped off end of every CD he rips).

peke doesn't seem to address that issue directly in his last post there - he said he had "no problems"; did he check for the issue rusty was seeing?
