No, not yet. :(

and while I have your attention :D

Is it possible to make the track info that shows up when I hover over the monkey in the system tray configurable?
I would like it to show
title - singer
Album - Year
Composer - Lyricist

Would a script be able to do that?

Thanks

Thanks

An addition of new fields to the main track list is planned for the next version.

Jiri

so when is this feature coming

by nm007 » Tue Mar 28, 2006 10:45 pm

Composer and Lyricist as columns in the main browser. Any response from the developers?

Also are magic nodes being further developed? (for making the entry editable) The regular tree nodes (like artist) can be edited.

Which software is more likely to implement the features you miss about the other? The MM team are clearly (look at this forum!) devoted to supplying your needs! :)

yup, found that it is part of the wishlist.

So is it coming in 2.5?
if not, any plans for that feature in the future?

How about having <Lyricist> as an option in
auto tag from filename and auto-organize

(I am representing a different user segment, I guess, that gives importance to lyricist and composer)

Also some other ID3V2 tags I have been using like language and situation dont seem to be available in MM. Am I missing something?

One more question,
Are the custom tags (custom1, 2,3) visible in other mp3 players/organizers ?

MM is better than Helium in some respects
but lacks in some other features.

hmm, decision time, should I switch or stay with old software???

I don't think you can add new columns on the main panel, even using scripts.

by nm007 » Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:47 pm

OK, magic nodes is cool.
I got my composers on the magic node.

HOWEVER, I can not get the composer tag to show as a column in the main browser.

Are the columns in the main browser configurable?
Whether to show a column or not is configurable, but the list of columns that CAN BE shown seems to be fixed
Can that list of columns be extended using some scripts?

(Next one I am going to try is song info panel)

thanks, but I think the composer/lyricist problem was because of me. I had installed MM sometime ago. (6-9 months may be) and had renamed custom1 to composer and custom2 to lyricist, since I had not found those tags. After I uninstalled and removed the folder from my music, and reinstalled, I got back custom1 and custom2 tags. Now composer and lyricist are not available in the main browser.

How can I get them in the main browser? Magic nodes for that as well?

The auto-tag from filename also worked correctly after the re-install.
(However lyricist is not available in the auto-tag from file, is that possible?)

Try using MagicNode Script.
I think It can create Composer and lyricist Tree Nodes.

Re FileName Mask: Have you tried with
<Album> - <Composer> - (<Year>)\<Title>

by nm007 » Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:14 pm

OK now a question about filename to tag
(MM seems to have composer in the rules of filename to tag, which is a plus compared to helium, which does not have composer)

Here is my filename format

<Album> -<Composer>- (<Year>)\<Title>

It does not parse it well. It does not fill in Year
but parses composer- (year) as Composer
Album and Title parse fine.

(If instead of Composer, I try
<Album> -<Skip>- (<Year>)\<Title>

Then I get album and year parsed correctly

OK, after some more testing

When I click on properties, the details tab shows the composer and lyricist
but the main browser does not :(

any ideas?

helium user wanting to switch

I am using helium for managing my music (which is a great music organizer btw), I am trying out MM because I dont like helium's music player. (It can not show the information of the song I am playing, and does not pause when I click on the icon in the system tray)
MM does that and it seems that the information displayed for a song is configurable.

My first problem, The composer and lyricist I had set using helium do not show up in MM. (I was using id3v2 tags)

Any idea why it is happening? Can I restore those? Otherwise its going to be difficult to move my stuff over :(

Also in helium, I am using a tag "situation" which seems to be ID3V2 tag. I didnt see it in MM, is that configurable?
