@Rusty

Can you please let us know what the specific problem is that causes this. This will allow me to plan a solution as I have quit some files affected.

No--this hasn't been fixed in Beta2.

@Rusty

I assume that beta 2 doesn't solve the problem?

i found this trouble in the old 2.4 version also.

but what it seems to do is not level mark the songs in any autoplaylist.

i had to take them out of the auto playlists and put them in another normal one inorder for them to be level anaylized and marked.

also when i did that i noticed the new songs i added with the alpha 5 version. did infact level the songs when it converted them from wav to ogg. it just did not mark them in the level field.

but when i got them in the other computer and level anaylized them all the songs were leveled to the same excate level.

so they were leveled when converted as that is the only time i told it to level them.

Lowlander,

I can replicate the problem you're observing. Thx for the report.

Tried syncing and checking on other PC thru the my computer node. That didn't work. I also updated the other PC's library and that also didn't solve my problem.

Would not having the volume info saved cause distortion though? I would think the auto-leveling wouldn't work...but distortion?

Hi,
Perhaps the newest versions have problems with saving the information into the files. There are already different reports of that sort. I had problem with saving the albumartistfield, someone had problems with saving cover arts and here there seems to be a problem with saving the volume information.

Only an idea...

Try this:
1. Calculate Volume Level for some tracks
2. Confirm that same track do not have Volume Level on other Machine
3. Sync Tags in those tracks
4. Recheck Volume Level on other Machine
5. Report back here or send debug log to MM support for futher investigation (as in this case it could be usefull)

Note: Make sure that other machine do not have that track in Library. Use My Computer node and Media Column must be empty.

2.5 beta 1 still has problems. Tracks that I calculated the volume level on one system show no volume level calculated on other system. Both systems run 2.5 beta 1. Other tag info seems to be saved correctly.

Still exists with beta...

this isn't the only cd it is happening too. Am i the only one having the issue? Anything i can do to provide more info for fixing it?

Another volume levelling bug seems to have surfaced again in these alphas.

Either MM doesn't write the volume level value to the track or it doesn't read them correctly. This happens with 2.5 alpha 3.

I volume level on one system and scan these new tracks in on a second system. The second system doesn't show the volume level value. All other fields seem to work.

Do you have 'Clipping prevention' in Tools|Options|Player|Volume Leveling enabled? This sounds like your don't.

possible beta bug with track leveling

Not sure what info is neede but here it goes:

I ripped a cd into flac (Cyndi Lauper, At Last) using compression 8. I had all the track level analysed. When i play the songs without the track leveling feature on it sounds fine. When i turn on track leveling, i get periods of static when playing the songs. The static or glithes are always in the same parts of each track. I turn auto leveling back off and it goes away. I also noticed it with a few other cd's, but not to that extent. Something to do with range? - she hits notes on this cd higher then just about anyone i have heard, and it happens alot with this cd.

Hope it was helpful
