Just guessing I do not have the device myself.
Have you checked some devices have setting to chose default memory for sync and as you do not have SD card phone just disconnects.

I can't seem to sync my Galaxy S to MM anymore. I updated my Galaxy S to 2.2
I have tried to sync to MM 3.2.4.1304 and the new 4.0.0.1367 (gold versions)
I get the Galaxy to show up in the sync device list, then when i hit sync, i get the message that it is preparing for the sync, then my phone just disconnects from windows and reconnects.
I have tried the different methods of usb connection for the phone - 'Samsung Kies' 'Media player' and 'Mass storage' but none are getting the job done.
I am only using the Galaxy's internal 16gb memory, i do not have a micro sd card.
Any ideas?

My problem is now solved and sync is working. AS mentioned in an earlier post set the USB option on the Galaxy to mass storage. (For some reason I seem to get a faster sync if I also press the button on the Galaxy to allow transfers to the SD card.) Make sure you find the correct device/plugin im MM tools (in my case it was just called REMOVABLE Disc (J:)) and configure it accordingly.

I am using the Froyo firmware in the Galaxy (version 2.2) and MM 3.2.4.

I too have a problem. Whether I have my Galaxy USB connection set to Klies or Mass storage there is no syncing happening. I do have Samsung Klies software installed could this be causing a conflict somehow?

The issue with my Galaxy S (AT&T Captivate OS 2.2) is that it doesn't show up as an active device in MM (3.2.5) at all. The drive letter it gets as a removeable drive is there, but it won't sync. There is no specific device listed on the left pane. I have already tried multiple device configuration variations in the device menu. Any ideas how to get MM to see it?

Chiefed, note that the phone may show up with a device name (SGH -I897) or a drive letter (i.e. E:\). I have seen both.

Disconnect the phone and, under settings - wireless & network - usb settings, choose " Mass storage... " than reconnect to USB and it should show up.
