No, currently it isn't possible in MM. I think it's possible upon formatting your iPod in iPod Updater.

I know that in Itunes there is an option to name your Ipod. I haven't synced my IPod with Itunes and I was wondering if there is a way to name the Ipod without using Itunes.

You are right, this part will be improved in the next release so that usage of mutliple iPods won't be a problem.

New generation ipods sync as "IPOD" not unique nam

by dph » Tue Dec 06, 2005 11:17 pm

Greetings,

I recently tried to sync two different new generation ipods with my music collection using Mediamonkey 2.5.1.921 Beta. One was a 60 GB Video, the other was a 4GB Nano. They are both recognized as "IPOD" even though each device has a unique name. Their sync options are therefore the same, rather than customized for each unit.

Prior to these IPODs I had older generation IPODs. Those units used to sync with Mediamonkey uniquely. Mediamonkey created separate "devices" for each unit which could be individualized such that, when the unit is synchronizd, the synchronization paramaters were unique to each unit. Are there plans to have the new generation iPods recognized individually?

Thanks,
David
