Most are MMIP installers, so just double click on them once downloaded to install. Most will become options in the Auto-Tag from Web dialog, so just select them and select what fields to update. The MusicIP Tagger does everything for you.

Apologies for my abbreviated explanation. I am having to use Auto Tag from Web because the Freedb lookups are failing ...

Thanks for the link to the scripts for alternate tag source scripts. None look simple to comprehend and/or install so if Freedb just worked so that I didn't have to go to Autotag from Web then that would be better for me.

That's not what is being discussed here, for this alternatives already exist: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1#p316877

Other sources? Excellent, because the coverage for track names I'm getting for recent purchases is woeful. I've got a 40th anniversary Aqualung by Jethro Tull - notable release of a classic album from an international artist, and the closes that Autotag from the Web can get is Thick as a Brick!

One reason for supporting Media Monkey is that I DON'T have to type in the metadata for all the tags, so Tag from Web is really important to me. Please fix this sooner rather than later.

Jarrovian, I noticed the same issue with freedb. I decided to download EAC for ripping, the new version uses the GD3 database. The best part is the high resolution images provided, much better than the Windows Media Player images. You might try it. It would be nice if MM could implement that database as well.

Windows media player does not use FreeDB, so the automatic search results may vary between programs.

In any event you can always just rip the tracks in WMP, then scan the ripped files into MM.

Yesterday I had nine CDs I wanted to rip. In the afternoon Freedb only tecognised two, that left me with seven. In the evening I tried again and this time Freedb recognised five leaving me with two unripped. I have ried several times without success.

These are:
Cinema Guitar, there is no artist name on the cover but id buried in text.
Celtic Harp Music, various artists.

After getting nowhere I went into Programs and opened Windows Media Player. Put in one of the CDs and it was immediately recognised and was ripped, the same happened with the second CD with no wait. WMP shows the Album Art and the CDs were in alphabetical order.

I understand that you cannot transfer WMP to MM but I can 'burn' from WMP and MM separately.

Suggestions why Freedb doe not have these in its DB and WMP does?

Ssuggestions how I can get these into MM and put them in Freedb for others?

Jarrovian, getting on for 86
