1394: Skip counting still not implemented for audio devices

by markstuartwalker » Wed Jun 22, 2011 5:18 am

I raised this http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=57006

I've checked in build 1394 today and confirmed that the DEVICETRACKS table still does not include a SKIPCOUNT field which means that skip counting in MM4 has been implemented in MM itself but the function isn't extended to the iPhone plugin.

1377: Incomplete SkipCounting implementation

I don't see http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=57006 being resolved completely.

Sure, the COM attributes are there and a DB column in SONGS table but the DEVICETRACKS table still has no SKIPCOUNT column which I presume means that the iPod/iPhone sync doesn't include it.

It also means that my iTunes plugin can't be enhanced to include SkipCounting. Disappointing. :-(

Will this include the additional columns in the DEVICETRACKS table and the ISDBtracksyncstatus interface too?

Quite a few of my users have asked for skip count sync features to be added to the d_iTunes driver and I'll need these features.

And finally, the native d_iPhone plugin, will this support skip counts too?

Actually we haven't thought of that recently as LastPlayed is not updated when skip count is increased. But I see your point

Anyway I added it as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=7641

Skip Counting only partially implemented [#7997]

by markstuartwalker » Thu Apr 07, 2011 2:24 pm

I thought that MM4 was going to implement skip counts as well as play counts? Well I can report that it has only partially been done.

It seems that the SongsData object has got a SkipCount integer but no LastSkipped date field.

Looking at the COM type library ISDBTrackSynchStatus doesn't have SkipCount or LastSkipped attributes.

With a bit of data table browsing it would seem that the DEVICETRACKS table has no skip columns at all.

Is there an intention to complete this implementation?
