It looks like the Monkey engine can't read the sdb_background . bmp images !

All skins ( msz files ) where stored in the AppData > Roaming > MM skin folder show wrong/ no background in AArt view and AArt with details view ( just shows withe background )
If you store the same msz files in the regular MM Skin folder ,backgrounds displays correct.
