OK.
I found the cause of the very nasty thread creation error.

It was the DirectSound Output Plug-in.
I've switched to WASAPI in exclusive mode, and not one error. Solid. :)
But I wish I didn't have to use WASAPI in exclusive mode to get it to work. :(

As usually, at least a debug log is needed to find out more about what's going on.

If the problem persists, can you clarify whether the issue occurs with all files or only a specific file?

If it's with all files, can you please [url=http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=341]send a debug log[/url]? If it's just with a particular file, can you PM me a link to the file?

Same part only rewinds once, but it's definitely not hotkeys because it does it even when I'm not doing anything

Does it rewind the same part once or multiple times. If it's once check your hotkeys and make sure you're not using the rewind hotkey.

The two problems may be completely unrelated, but earlier MM began randomly rewinding about 10 seconds back through a song every few minutes, as if it was stuck and couldn't load more of the song. The music is all on my internal hard drive and I've had this PC about two weeks, so I doubt it's a hard drive error...
Then the problem developed further - a message came up about Thread Creation Error, something that a couple of other people have also had issues with in 1418 [ [url=http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=58314&p=308113&hilit=thread+creation+error#p308043]viewtopic.php?f=6&t=58314&p=308113#p308043[/url] ] which persisted until eventually MM closed itself when I attempted to switch from MiniPlayer to full view. (Just reopened, it's reset the Now Playing to what it was last time I opened MM rather than when it closed, but the songs I'd just rated have kept their ratings)

I recently installed AMIP [ http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/start ] and other than that I only have Last.fm scrobbler and Last.fm Node plugins installed and CleanMM skin (latest versions of them all).
Win 7 64-bit, 2GHz quad-core processor, 6GB RAM and 16000 files [186GB] in my library if any of that is useful.
