Hi,
may be not really a problem with MM4 beta, 1426, however, I'm running it here exclusively with build 1426, hence I'm posting it within this board.
After syncing MM4 with my Sansa View, connected with or without MCP mode, some album arts are visible and some are not.
I've already read many similar topics here regarding this issue, not a single was of any help so far.
I've tested already various device options including (possibly translated wrong):
1) Create/sync pictures in folder using <Album>.jpg and folder.jpg - no effect!
2) Copy pictures to file properties (don't know if this means tags) - on/off - no effect!
3) Remove album arts from tag if size exceeds 300 kb - on/off - no effect!
Some album arts are shown on the Sansa, but many are displayed using the default picture (from Sansa). So far I could not figure out what rules apply for those image which are shown and for those which are not shown.
Fact is all album arts are stored to the appropriate tags on my local PC. After syncing, MM4 creates either a folder.jpg or e.g. <Album>.jpg on my Sansa. No matter which option I choose, the art is not show in some case.
After syncing I get e.g. those files on Sansa, which album art is NOT shown:
- Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops & Hooligans.alb
- folder.jpg (size 158 kb, 600x596px), double-clicking in explorer does show a valid picture
- Grenade.mp3, when copying from Sansa to desktop it shows a album art, guess it is included in tags.
This album art IS shown from those files, on Sansa:
- New Kids On The Block - Dirty Dancing.alb
- folder.jpg (size 63,9 kb, 600x596px)
- Dirty Dancing (Album Version).mp3
Maybe the different file size after syncing to the Sansa is causing a problem? A restart of the Sansa after syncing does not help either!
Note: I've copied the folder.jpg from New Kids on The Block (the one which works perfectly) to the subfolder of Bruno Mars and guess what? The album art is now shown, apparently the wrong one, but it is there. So what's the deal? The file size? If so can MM4 somehow reduce it, e.g. compress before syncing?
cu,
Michael
