Hi Rusty,

I try and try everything and suddenly the Unsynchronized tags node is empty!

I don't believe it but now it works and I don't know why?

So I Think everything is alright!

Thanks, Pauli

Is it a non-English version of Win7 (I'm wondering if perhaps it's a locale - related problem).

Note: I tested with the files that you submitted as follows:

1 Scan the files
2 Go to Unsynchronized tags node
--> the three files appear
3 Right click on the files, and 'Synchronize tags...'
--> Tags update for the 3 files
4 Go to Unsynchronized tags node
--> the 3 files no longer appear
5 Remove the 3 files from the library and rescan them
6 Go to the Unsynchronized tags node
--> the 3 files no longer appear

i.e. the three files that you sent are properly tagged in my environment (MM4 build 1431 Portable, Win7x64). Could it be that the tracks are set as read-only?

Pauli,

What version of Windows are you using?

Hi Rusty,

the ',' in Artist name is not for multiple attributes. For Example I save names like 'Elvis Presley' as 'Presley, Elvis'!

But in my list there are track without the ',' too and the option for support multiple attributes is set to standard (;).

Any other ideas? Should I send some other files?

Deleted full DB again and rescan. After that there are the files under unsynchronized tags again!

Hi Pauli,

I'm unable to replicate the problem using the 3 test files that you sent.

The only thing I noticed about those three files is that they all had a ',' within the Artist name. Is your system configured to use a ',' instead of a ';' to support multiple attributes?

Note: on my system, even upon changing the splitter to a ';', the files didn't remain unsynched. Try removing them from the DB and rescanning and see if that solves the problem.

Hi Rusty,

of course I send you some files but I think it is quicker if I send it direct to your email!

So please PM me your email address so I can send you some files.

Thanks, Pauli

PS: From tomorrow morning I am on the road for 5 days!

Hi Pauli,

I'm not seeing this issue with my test files. Can you please PM me with a link (e.g. using mediafire.com) to a couple of the files that are experiencing this problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

I trying 1426 at the moment and I get some songs at unsynchronized tags too. I delete the DB and rescan my whole files and there are still some files under unsynchronized tags!

All files are only singles (without an album etc.) and I can not recognize any problems with this files!

Thanks for your support, Pauli

I'm now running 1422 and I notice some differences:
- the number of non-synchronizable files is reduced to 63
- all non-synchronizable files are now multi-artist and/or have non-standard characters

Note that many very similar files synchronize well.

I will send you a few examples of these files via PM. Let me know if you need more examples or additional information.

Hi WillyDVD,

There are a =80&status_id[]=90&sticky_issues=on&fixed_in_version=4.0&sortby=last_updated&dir=DESC&hide_status_id=-2]couple of changes in this node for MM4, but none that would explain this.

I've been able to replicate the problem with foreign characters, but that's it:

Can you PM me with links to other files that show up in the 'unsynchronized tags' node even after updating the tags?

Thanks.

1418: Synchronise labels not working well [#8283]

by willyvds » Tue Aug 16, 2011 11:37 am

When I look at "unsynchronised labels" with 1418, I get a list of some 100 files that I didn't (and don't) get with MM3.
I have tried to synchronise these labels, this didn't help: the labels are still unsynchronised.
Then I have removed all labels and then again tried to synchronise them. No effect.

I don't immediately see a common aspect of these approximately 100 unsynchronizable files:
- Some have multiple artists, but not all. And many other multiple artists files are perfectly synchronised.
- Some have non-standard characters, but not all. And many songs with non-standard characters synchronise well.
- Some have really nothing that strikes me as odd in the field that is unsynchronised.

Anyone any idea what could be the issue here?

Regards, Willy
