I confirm a_daley's last post. Unchecking OGG audio and video helps to disable OGG-video permanently.

Just a quick note - I am not referring to OGG Audio - only video... But if you remove both video and audio it doesn't reassign them.

No I haven't - but have played some since with MPC since loading 1448 and mp4's etc show as being associated with MPC but OGG shows the default as MM.

I manually unticked OGG then associated MPC via the Control Panel, restarted MM and the tick was back as well as the Control Panel showed the default program as MM. Did it all again with a soft boot and still MM obviously is having a love affair with OGG on this PC ;)

formats remain as requested...
Have you set MPC as the default player after you changed the selection in MM though?

When I started MM4 again this afternoon, all the default video file associations were enabled again, even though I disabled them this morning. So I have no idea of what causes them to be enabled again. Running MM4 with as Administrator does not solve the issue. I even tried a complete clean reinstall of MM4 built 1448 and deleted all MM4 related files and registry entries. No luck. Same issue. At least OGG-Video-file association can not be disabled.

In order to find out, what's wrong I opened regedit, navigated to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.OGG and removed all entries there and entered "audio/ogg".

Steps to (hopefully) reproduce:
1. Disable "Re-associate File Types on startup" (optional)
2. Close MM4
3. Change HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.OGG\(Standard) to "audio/ogg"
4. Open MM4 -> registry key not changed
5. Open Options dialog fo MM4 -> OGG is checked in the tree
5. Uncheck OGG video file
6. Click OK -> registry key not changed
7. Close MM4 -> registry key not changed
8. Open MM4 again -> Now the registry key changed to "MediaMonkey.OGGFile" even though "Re-associate File Types on startup" is disabled.

Each time I open options dialog OGG video node is checked, no matter what I do. I even deleted the mediamonkey.ini.

Same seems to happen with other file associations from time to time.
I can't reproduce with a regular installation. I have never associated any file type with MM, and it has always stayed that way since I installed MM4 some months ago. Did you also set a different program as the default for OGG, WMV, etc?

I do not use MediaMonkey portable. I use regular built with default installation (none portable). "Re-associate File Types on startup" is enabled here, as it is by default, but it does not really matter. I can't confirm on 1448 Portable. Although for some reason items were selected, deselecting them at their root nodes and restarting MediaMonkey left them unselected.

Re-associate File Types on startup is disabled here.

1448: Windows-Integration issues

Hello guys, found another issue this morning.

As I do not (want to) use MM4 as movie manager or player due to its terrible video quality, but only for music, I want to avoid MM to be the default player for any kind of video file. From time to time I have realized, MM4 is assigned as default player for WMV-files. I disabled this several times with no persistent luck. Today as I found MM4 to be the default player for WMV-files again I had a deeper look on it and found out the "windows-integration" property sheetpage of the options dialog does not work as expected.

By default, there are several video files checked for beeing associated with MM4. I uncheck the "Video" root-node of the TreeView in order to uncheck all child nodes, too. I click on "OK" button and close MM4 then. After restarting MM4 and opening the options dialog, I find all default nodes beeing checked again.

So I unchecked each node (wmv, ogg, ...) one by one, closed the options dialog and restarted MM4. Almost all nodes are unchecked then, but "OGG video" node. It can not be persistently unchecked.

I did not check all nodes. Maybe audio nodes' checked state is not saved, too. Can you please have a look on it?

Thanks
